I am starting off strong here with two days of posts in a row.
It is a beautiful day in Portland and our Crab Apple Tree is in full bloom, what a treat. Unfortunately, my allergies are also in full bloom so I am inside finishing off the tasks I avoided yesterday... and blogging.
I had a dream about my old Smokey Bear stuffed animal. No doubt prompted by looking through old photo albums in search of a specific picture to post. So, although I am still searching for "that" picture, I did run across this picture of Smokey being dragged around by me as a two year old. No doubt in this picture I am actually in a forest making it all the more poignant. I also did a little research and found out Smokey is 64 years old this year. So, although he looks younger than me in the picture, he is actually 19!
One thing I have noticed about this blog is that it creates a big mess in my house. Or, I guess more accurately I create a big mess in my house searching for pictures. It would be a lot easier if I organized the pictures first, then chose a picture for the blog, but that just wouldn't be me.

I know what you mean! Byron can attest to the messyness too. My bed is always covered and boxes in the middle of the floor! But I am starting to send mine into a professional archiving service. They finish the photos and allow you to choose those you want. My plan is to eventually slurp it into a blurb book and once the book is created, I can add a cd with all the pictures to the back of the book and throw away all the hard copies (except for those I want to hang and such). That way I can still acess the pictures...I'm sure I can do all the archiving myself, but it's worth the money to me to not do it and avoid the chaotic mess archiving and blogging entails!
Jenn,
Thanks for the idea of the archiving service.... I may do that too.
I wonder how old Rafter is...
I am afraid to ask what ever happened to Smokey... since I know my "blankie" ended up as rags for the garage...
Where is Rafter?
He now resides in SLC, UT :)
Kari,
What great insights into your younger years, although you will always be in "younger years" to me.
Love, me xoxo
